Library

The College library is located in a spacious new building of 6000 Sq. ft. The library is open to students and staff members from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on all working days. The library has a rich collection of around 38,400 volumes of text books, reference books, national and international journals in all branches of Engineering, Science, Technology, Management and General Studies, and the collection is ever increasing. The books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. Open access system is followed in the library.

The College library subscribes to following E-Journals: IEEE, Springer- EEE,CSE, Springer- Mechanical Engineering, Elsevier (Science Direct)- Engineering +Computer Science, Elsevier (Science Direct)- Biotechnology (Back File), Nature – Biotechnology, Scientific American – Biotechnology, ASTM Standards, McGraw Hill – Access Engineering, J-GATE- Engineering & Technology, J-GATE- Management Sciences, EBSCO – Business Source Elite.

REFERENCE SECTION

Library Reference Section

The reference section of the library has rich collection of International editions of reference books, hand books, conference proceedings, encyclopedias and various reference documents.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

The Digital Library provides online resources for students interested in Computer Assisted Learning.

ELECTRONIC LIBRARY

The Electronic Library section now has a rich collection of more than 3500 CD-ROMs.

AUDIO VISUAL SECTION

The Audio Visual Section of the library has facilities to view video programmes. An exclusive satellite receiver is provided to receive educational programmes like Gyan Darshan Technology. The section is equipped with facilities to store and disseminate video programmes to faculty members and students.

INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP

The college is an institutional member of the IE(I) Library, Anna University Library and British Council Library, Chennai to facilitate the staff and students to borrow books, journals and video programme that are not available in the institution.

ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOGUE

The library is equipped with computerized Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) for searching availability of books and CD-ROM. Bar code system is followed in all transactions.

REPROGRAPHY

Photocopying facility is available in the library. Nominal charge is collected for photocopying service.

  1. Perfect silence should be maintained in the library.
  2. Students of  U.G. Programmes will be given 5 library cards and those of P.G.Programmes 4 cards each. . 4 Libray cards are issued to faculty.
  3. Students can keep the books for one month.
  4. Books should be returned on or before the due date, which is marked on the first page of the books issued.
  5. A fine of Rs. 1.00 will be imposed per day for late returning of books.
  6. Books will be issued only against the production of library cards.
  7. The loss of Library Tickets should be brought to the notice of the Librarian in writing immediately. A fine of Rs.25/- will be charged per card lost.
  8. The Library will be closed on Government holidays.
  9. Students should make good any loss of or damage of the library books, magazines or library property.
  10. Reference books, magazines, journals and dailies cannot be taken out of the library.
  11. The library remains open from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
  12. No one is allowed to pass on the library books to an allowed to pass on the library books to anyone in or outside the college. He/She will do so under pain of fine or of suspension of membership from the Library.
  13. Students or staff who leave the college for any reason in the middle of the term should return the books before they leave the college or no dues certificate will not be issued. 
  14. Writing or underlining in a book or tampering with a book in any manner is strictly prohibited.
  15. Research scholars are invited to make use of the research cubicle available in the library.
